Winter is when this Southern Ocean Coastline experiences huge seas and howling winds, the sea spray and foaming ocean around the columns gives visitors an experience like no other. On tranquil days the Twelve Apostles transform from threatening forms in the shadow into magnificent sand-coloured monuments in the sun.The views at sunrise and sunset show off the gigantic scale of the place and descending down the Gibson Steps 70 metres down the cliff face and onto the sand is where you are literally dwarfed by the enormousness of the Apostles.
 
The legendary “Shipwreck Coast” is home to a collection of remarkable rock formations including London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge and the most famous of them all, the 12 Apostles.
