Following the success of the movie, "The Overlanders", plans were announced to produce one film in Australia a year and the first was to be Eureka Stockade starring Chips Rafferty. Eureka Stockade is a 1949 historical Gold Rush epic melodrama and was released in America as "Massacre Hill".
