This 1917 lithographic poster was Western Litho. Co. Los Angeles and was inspired from Alfred Leete’s 1914 image of Kitchener. This was a time before radio and when the poster was uniquely compelling. Propaganda played a significant role in the war efforts of WW I and II and today the humble poster has been replaced with a formidable Twitter.
